Going on vacation is our way to escape the monotonous day-to-day of our everyday lives and give ourselves time to relax and unwind without having to worry about things at home – especially your dog(s). For many dogs, overnight boarding can also seem like a vacation to them! Rather than leaving your dog unattended at home hoping they don’t get into anything or destroy your home while your gone, doggy boarding is a perfect way to ensure your dog is given the proper care and attention while you’re away. Has your pup never spent a night away from you? Better yet, at an overnight dog boarding facility? No worries! Our team here at Coastal Paws Pet Resort has come up with three ways to prepare your dog for overnight boarding!
Visit Your Veterinarian
It’s important to make sure your dog is flea-free and dewormed before they arrive at our dog boarding facility. Visit your vet at least two weeks prior to your stay to ensure your pup is updated on vaccinations and is properly dewormed and flea-free!
Schedule A Trial Stay
If it’s your dog’s first time boarding at a facility, a trial night is a great idea. This will help get your dog acclimated to their environment before they stay for multiple days in a row. If it’s their first time, arriving in the morning will ensure they have the entire day to get comfortable.
Keep Your Dog Comfortable
While we don’t allow guests to bring their own bedding to help limit any possible contaminants, we allow them to have their own toys that are non-destructible. However, we do not allow any toys that can be torn apart or shredded and possibly ingested (plush toys, stuffed toys, rope toys, etc). Don’t worry, each dog’s suite has their own raised chew-resistant Kuranda bed with luxurious fleece!
Overall, these are just a few tips to help your dog prepare for overnight dog boarding! Of course your dog’s safety is our top priority, so please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have – we’re here to help! Check out our FAQs for a list of the most common questions we are asked!
Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance.
I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this. Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Firefox.
